There may be occasions where you are presented with a drop-down that has historic values listed where your browser is auto filling or auto completing the box - often this is when adding dates and that in turn hides the date picker for example with historical dates in the system.

This is due to the auto-fill feature in your web browser. Below is an example of this in action:
