Self certification forms
It is possible to use the Natural HR form builder to create customised self certification forms which can be completed electronically following an instance of absence.
Self certification forms require an employee to complete a section of the form themselves: once completed, these forms are stored against the instance of absence, ready for the employee's manager or HR to complete their section of the form.
Enabling Self certification forms
Once the form has been created within the form builder, there are a couple of settings which will need to be changed in order for this to be enabled:
Select which Self certification form you would like to use by going to
Administration -> Company -> Settings -> Time off settings (global)
In the 'Absence settings' section, select the form which you have created as a 'Self certification' form.
Once you have selected the form which you would like to use, select Submit at the bottom of the page to save the change.
If you require a Self certification form to be triggered after a certain duration, for example, if the absence is longer than 5 days, you should enter the trigger duration in the 'Self certification trigger duration' field.
You will need to indicate to the Natural HR system, which of your time off types requires a Self certification form. To do this, go to
Administration -> HR -> Time off management -> Time off types
Here, you can either add a new time off type, or edit an existing one.
In the Absence settings section, select 'Yes' in the 'Self certification required' options to indicate if this time off type requires one.
Once completed, select 'Submit' at the bottom of the page to save the change.
Completing a Self Certification form
Once an instance of absence requiring a Self certification form has been entered into the system, the relevant employee will receive an email notification to suggest that this needs to be completed; the employee will also receive a banner under their To Do screen, which will allow them to complete the form.
The employee will then be able to review the details of the absence whilst completing the form, by clicking on the item in their workflow.
Once submitted, this form will be fed back to the employee's manager to review.
