Report builder permissions
The Natural HR Report builder allows you to create custom reports to meet your business needs. These reports can be shared with other Natural HR users who are members of specific user groups:
- HR
- Manager
- Finance
- Recruitment
- Trainer
- Facilities
- Approver
However there is an important step to complete before they can access and view reports created in the Report builder. The user(s) must have permission to view the data source the report is based on.
To set up the permissions, go to:
Administration > Company > Report builder permissions
Here, you will see the screen below. To allocate permissions for a specific report to a user group, tick the box where the report and the user group meet in the table:
IMPORTANT: By default, the HR user group does NOT have automatic access to Report builder reports when they are built, so you will need to give them access if you want them to be able to view these reports.
When you give a manager access to any report, the report will only show them data for their employees (i.e. those employees who have the manager set as their manager in the employee file).
HR, Finance and Recruitment user groups are not filtered at all - if you give them access to a report it shows them the information for all employees across the whole company.
Finally, there is no way to allow employee level users access to any reporting at this time.
Once you add any permissions for a user group, Reporting will then appear in their menu bar.
Once the user clicks Report builder they will only see the relevant reports and report groups based on their permissions as set above. Please click here for more information about the Report builder standard library reports.
