Within Natural HR employees have the ability to submit a training request via self service.
Firstly a setting needs to be enabled to allow them to do this. Go to:
Administration -> Company -> Settings -> Company Settings
Within the 'Training' section there is the "Employee self service training field" with the following options:
No - employee cannot request training
Yes - library courses only - employees can only request training if it exists within the training library
Yes - library and ad hoc requests - employee can request training from the existing library and make an ad hoc request
Request training via self service
There are two ways to begin submitting an expanse claim on NaturalHR. From the Homepage you can click the Request Training (1) button, or if it's hidden click More Actions (2) -> Request Training:
Alternatively you can go to:
Self service -> My development -> My training
Then select the "Request training" button.
If requesting training which is from the library select the "Course library" field below and it will drop down a list you can choose from. It will then pre-populate any information already available.
Once the course has been chosen, fill in any remaining fields marked with an asterisk. In most cases this will only be the "Requested Training Date", but your HR or training team might have chosen to ask some specific additional questions to determine why you have requested the training. If these are set up, they will appear as follows:
These additional questions can be set up by an Administrator or HR user by going to:
Administration -> HR -> Data Management -> Questions -> Training Request Questions
If your settings allow the submission of ad hoc requests then you can simply fill out the form without selecting anything from the course library. As a minimum you will need to fill out the following mandatory fields:
- Training title
- Requested training date
You are also able to upload multiple course attachments where required:
Once the form has been completed, click "Submit" and this request will be sent to the relevant person for approval.
Once approved, you will receive an email to your work email address notifying you of the approved training course - this will also appear under the "Recent actions" section of the dashboard. Lastly, if set to do so your training course will be added to your company calendar which is displayed at the bottom of your Home page.
