Duplicate candidate applications
There may be occasions where a candidate may apply for the same role on different days or different roles on the same day.
The system has checks in place to ensure duplicate applications are not created when an instance such as this occurs:
- surname
- e-mail address
- job applied for
- date
A candidate can apply for a role as many times as they wish, as long as all of the above checks are not applicable.
For example:
- If a candidate wished to apply for the same role with a different e-mail address, this application will be successful regardless of the application date.
- If a candidate wishes to apply for a different role on the same day but is using the same e-mail address, the application will be successful.
- If a candidate attempts to apply for a role that they applied for 20 minutes ago with the same e-mail address, the application will not be successful.
- If a candidate attempts to apply for a role they applied for yesterday, this will be successful.
Once a duplicate application is detected a message will appear on the application for once a submission has been attempted which will look like the below:
This will appear on the top left of the application form once a duplicate application has been attempted.
Using custom application forms
If you are using a custom application form built using the form builder, the same logic above will be applied however this will only be applied if you have included the surname and email fields in your form.
If you do not have both of these fields then we will not be able to detect duplicates.
