Org chart settings
HR provides an organisation chart feature, accessible by users at all levels, which allows them to see all employees in the context of the organisational structure, where they function within their business, who they report to, and if applicable, who reports to them.
You can set the default behaviour and appearance of the org chart by going to:
Administration -> Company -> Settings -> Company settings
In the 'Org chart settings' section you can make changes to the following options:
Org chart default depth – With 'Org chart default depth' set to 0, when the org chart loads it will appear like the below:
Whereas when 'Org chart default depth' is set to 3 anyone below this level is not shown, but they can be ‘revealed’ by clicking the plus sign under the name of the manager etc.
Org chart mouse zoom – When using the org chart, you can zoom the chart in or out using your mouse wheel if you select 'Yes'. You can turn this option off if needed by selecting 'No'.
Org chart dotted line - EXPERIMENTAL - This is where you can enable visible connections between employees in addition to employee-manager relationships, such as approvers. From the dropdown you can choose 'Approver', 'Super approver' or 'Head of department'.
In the below example the 'Approver' option was selected and you can see this is represented by a dotted line between the employee and their approver.
External org chart URL – If you are using an external org chart instead of the one provided by HR, enter the URL for the external org chart to be embedded with an iframe and which will replace the default org chart. The URL must be a secure link (i.e. https) and ensure you include the whole URL including the "https://".
