Form Field Names in Workflows
When creating an email message on a workflow step you can add in placeholders to pull through information about an employee and certain information about items relating to employees such as Time off requests and Expense/Mileage reports.
You can also use these placeholders to pull through the data of responses on form fields from forms that you send out via your workflows. See below example.
I have a simple Employee Rating form that I have setup to gather the ratings from Employees on various subjects. On the form I have various fields that record this information. If for instance I want to see the employee response to this Service Rating option I can do so by putting the name of the field on my email in my workflow step.
In this case, the name is the database field name 'servicerating' and I have setup the email on the workflow step to incorporate the response to this field as a placeholder. The workflow step type I have used this on is a send form which triggered workflow, the idea being that I have an employee fill out a form and the form is sent to the recipient which in this case is the employees manager. I have included the response to one of the fields in the email so the manager would see this detail when he looks at the email before clicking the link to view the whole form.
