There is a setting within the expense settings whereby you can show timesheet information for an employee on the expense approval screen. This can be useful to make sure that timesheet records and expense claims marry up with each other.
To enable this setting select yes on the option 'Show timesheets information against expense lines'
Administration >Company > Settings > Expenses > Expense Settings
With this enabled, the approval/view screen of the expense will have a downward facing arrow which when expanded, shows you the detail recorded on the employees' timesheet on the date of the expense claim. In the below example I have an expense claim for a client visit on a particular date and expanding this option provides the information below.
Through this view, I can see that the employee logged two separate entries on their Timesheet for this date with the second being logged against a client visit reference in the afternoon. I can see from this that the expense claim logged against Client Entertainment with a receipt matches up with the employees activity on this date and I can choose whether or not to approve this claim after looking at this information.
