How do I trigger an offboarding workflow based on exit reason?
Within Natural HR you have the ability to trigger offboarding workflows based on exit reasons when making an employee a leaver.
To link to an exit reason to a workflow navigate to:
Administration > HR > Data management > Exit reasons
Click on the action dots and select edit to change an existing exit reason, or click on the "Add" button to add a new Exit Reason.
In the workflow field, choose the workflow you want to trigger when this exit reason is used. This should be a Task ->offboarding workflow, as shown in the below image where the offboarding workflow have been assigned to the Termination exit reason.
So using the above if an employee is made a leaver and Termination is selected as the exit reason it will then trigger the offboarding workflow.
You can have one offboarding workflow assigned to multiple exit reasons, and different workflows can be used for different exit reasons.
For example, you may have an offboarding workflow for your voluntary exit reasons and then a separate workflow for all your involuntary exit reasons.
PLEASE NOTE -
If you have added restrictions to your offboarding workflow such as limiting by Department, if an employee isn't in the departments that are selected for the workflow it will not trigger for that employee even if the exit reason linked to the workflow is selected.
